And nothing upstream warns you when a storm turns a small tributary into a into a huge risk. No one is measuring the river above the plant.

In June 2024, 80 millimetres of rain fell on the Misox valley in two hours. There was no special weather warning. Six Axpo plants were damaged. One sat offline for months under half a metre of mud in its tunnel. We now work with Axpo to monitor sediment and water conditions upstream.
