Weather radar shows where rain is falling. National bulletins cover wide areas and major rivers. A fire brigade needs to know whether one specific creek will rise, when the water reaches a critical point, and which procedure to trigger.

CASE STUDY

In July 2025, flash floods swept the Texas Hill Country. The Guadalupe River rose in the early hours of the morning. More than 100 people died, among them children at a riverside summer camp. The same region flooded again in July 2026.

During the pilot we combine the in-stream readings with weather-radar data. The model learns how rain over the catchment changes water levels at the places your team has to protect.

Threshold alerts run from the day the sensor goes in. The forecast layer adds an estimated arrival time, a named location and a confidence level as the model trains on your catchment.
